Dial up connection, this connection operates through telephone line. This is the oldest, cheapest and slowest connection you can ever find. You can’t use your phone and connection at the same time. If you are fond of browsing and sending emails, you might be able to work on a dial up connection.

DSL or Digital subscriber line, this high speed connection is hooked up on your telephone wires, but there’s good news!  Unlike dial up you can use the phone and internet connection at the same time. Base on my experience, this is the most cheapest and reliable connection out in the market right now. For business owner and professionals, this is an ideal connection for you.

Cable Connection, for those who are fond of television, and you are subscribed to a cable company, you might as well subscribe for their internet connection as well. Like DSL, this is a fast speed connection.

Satellite, this amazing connection does not use telephone lines and cable lines but uses satellite dish. If you have seen a “Dish” like gadget on top of your roof, then that means you have a satellite connection. There is one disadvantage I experienced on satellites though; trees and heavy rains could give you connection headaches. For families with multiple computers, this is the best deal you can find.

Wireless, Wi-Fi is all over the place, coffee shops, shopping malls, and even saloons have Wi-Fi connection, this gives business enterprise an edge  since most customers would like to be hooked up on the internet  even while they are on the go. For Business people and young professionals who are always on the go, Wi-Fi is available anywhere!
