Boost energy
Drink lots of water – this is being told to us over and over in every possible way but we still choose to ignore it. Water helps to flush the toxins from the body boosting energy levels.
Include more alkaline forming foods like figs, vegetables, almonds, dates, beets, celery and fruits to your diet.
Reduce your caffeine intake – I know if feels good to drink coffee but it has a very negative impact and causes burnout much faster.
Cut out excessive sugar from your diet, too much sugar will cause fluctuation in your blood sugar levels and this will result in plummeting energy levels. Cut out all the refined sugars from your diet.
Eat more protein, almonds and other nuts make easy to munch on snacks that will give you the protein you need.
Lifestyle changes
Diet – every single wellbeing and nutrition expert will tell you that one of the secrets to good health is a healthy diet. You have to take a good look at what you are eating and make some changes. Start your day right with a healthy breakfast and don’t use “no time” as an excuse. This will also prevent you from overeating during the day. Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet and cut out refined sugars, fried foods and unhealthy fats. Eat more grains, nuts and seeds, dairy and use olive oil to cook.
Exercise – without it the body becomes sluggish and fatigued very easily. You need to discipline yourself to get in at least 20-30 minutes of exercise on a daily basis. Take a walk round the block, that’s all you need to do; use this time to commune with God, nature, listen to music and think positive thoughts to set the right tone for your day.
De-stress – only you have the power to de-stress your life. Get organized, you cannot remember everything so write it down. Use a fancy PDA or a plain old notepad – just get it down so you don’t forget. If jobs pop up that will only take anything from a minute to five minutes tops, get it over with. If it goes beyond that time-frame, set it aside for later. When we allow stuff to build up we are also building stress.
Start out by following these simple tips and go on to build on them for a healthier, happier life.
