Having a sat nav, is great. When you need to drive somewhere, all you have to do is enter your destination and then follow the instructions. The only trouble is that you have to listen to the instructions and most of the voices are dull and boring. Wouldn’t it be more fun to have, say, Clint Eastwood, giving you directions. Or, maybe, a sexy female voice, such as Kim Cattrall from Sex and the City?

Luckily most of the sat nav manufacturers, such as TomTom and Garmin, allow you to change the voice. To this, you first have to download some files. There are many websites offering celebrity voices. Once you find a suitable one, just follow their instructions to get the files. The next step is to transfer them to your sat nav. To do this you will need to connect it to your computer. Then it’s just a simple case of dragging and dropping, just like any other file or folder on your computer. Finally, once you’re in your car and starting a journey, just use the options menu to hear the new voice!

Mr.T. Remember him from the A Team? The angry guy, with all the jewelery, that likes to call everybody a fool.

David Hasselhoff. Of Baywatch and Knight Rider fame.

Dennis Hopper. Easy Rider.

Kim Catrall. As mentioned before, one of the sexy stars of Sex in the City.

Optimus Prime. If you loved Transformers the movie, this has to be the one for you. This is the one I installed on my Garmin Nuvi 255WT.

As you can see there are plenty of different celebrity voices available. You should have no trouble finding something to suit you.
